145. Hannah Simone & my pal Pluto

If you follow me on instagram, you know that a couple years ago, Hannah Simone reposted one of my arts. If you don't know who she is, she's mostly known for her sexy modeling, but mostly for her role as Cece on Fox's show, New Girl.
a couple days ago, Hannah posted an adorable picture with Kermit the frog. Being the fan that I am, I decided to doodle the couple. To my surprise, last night Hannah reposted my doodle!

144. Star vs. The Forces of Evil

It's been a while!
I'm currently working at Disney Interactive as a QA Tester here in Glendale. It's pretty fun. I play video games all day, I really can't complain. lol

Anyway, earlier this year, I got to do a storyboard test on Disney Toon's series Star vs. The Forces of Evil. Unfortunately it didn't land me a job, but it was definitely a great experience. I enjoyed it a lot.

143. How To Draw series

Hi everyone! It's been a while since I've posted anything.
Adam and I have started a Youtube series. We hope to get our work out there. Our first series we're doing is geared towards the younger audience, a "How To Draw" series. Our first episode we show how we go about drawing Jake the dog from Cartoon Network & Frederator's Adventure Time cartoon!

142. New Girl

I based a drawing off of my favorite model, Hannah Simone (she's more known for her role on New Girl as Cece).
To my surprise, she liked and reposted it on instagram! It was a real surprise!

This isn't my first shout out from a celeb, but it's been a while since my last shout out. I'm so glad it received a lot of positive feedback. But most importantly, the person the art was intended for likes it and that's all that matters!

139. Center Stage Gallery

This past Saturday, we went to the CSG for drawing night. It was a lot of fun! We were there for 6hrs and drew from a live model; which I haven't done in a LONG time. It was fun to get back in the groove of drawing again. I think I got a few awesome drawings in. The models both had themes: the first one was Chicago and the second was steam punk.

137. Shirts and things

Hi everyone! It's been a while since I've last posted anything. I've been busy working. The contract work that I'm doing requires I do 100 drawings. My subject is The Great Gatsby. It's fun, just A LOT of work. Here's a little sneak peek:

Also next month, May, my friend Regina and I will have a table at FanimeCon 2014. (The link is on the side) I'm looking forward to that and seeing everyone! Anyway, I recently found out that USAIAMHOTTEST and 2OD (2OneDay) collaborated on a t-shirt. Remember how a while back I helped design pillowcases? Well, the design of the paper airplanes used for the pillowcases was featured on a shirt! CHECK IT OUT! You all are free to order through USAIAMHOTTEST by May 11. I thought I'd share with everyone to those who are 2PM fans! :D

136. Sketchbook 2014

I *sort* of kept my goal about my sketchbook. I came rather close to finishing, but I didn't actually fill up all the pages of my sketchbook. I am, however, very proud of myself as to exactly how far I got. Though I didn't reach my desired goal, I feel like I actually accomplished a lot.

134. Sketchbook 2014

It's been awhile. HAPPY 2014!
I don't know if you all are familiar with Mike Yamada and Victoria Ying over at Extracurricular Activities, but this month of January they started a sketchbook challenge where you pretty much fill up an entire sketchbook within one month. I was late to the game so I'm about half way through. But I was pretty proud of myself with keeping up trying to at least do a drawing a day. Even though the month is coming to an end, it's not to late to set that target for yourself. You should also check out their blog area. They have some GREAT posts.

Anyway, I wanted to share some things I did in my sketchbook so far. I cheated a little since I have a few sketchbooks that have been used. I changed up the game for myself. I have three used sketchbooks, but my goal is to fill those in at least 3 months. Now, these sketchbooks are less than  a quarter complete, so there are quite a few pages. I think if I were to combine all of the pages, they'd be at least 2 1/5 sketchbooks.

131. Mermaid & Conventions

It's definitely been a while since I've posted much. I was busy with CTNX that happened this past weekend. I've attended for a few years and I've always enjoyed this convention the most simply because it's all about animation! I always come back inspired. But this year, I had the privilege to exhibit for the first time with Adam Knight. It was both scary and exciting. I saw old friends and made quite a few new ones.
Thank you everyone who came by to visit! I really hope that I'll be able to exhibit again next year! I've set a goal for myself and I really hope to improve and show it to everyone by next year's CTN!

Here's a mermaid piece that I had for sale as a print that to my surprise was the most popular piece.

Adam and I also had our first collaborative sketchbook for sale this year at CTN. We were quite proud of it, it was my first time putting something like that together for a convention.

We had a lot of giggles for the title. I'm so glad people understand. "Some Like It Rough" because I specifically prefer rough drawings over cleaned. You see the realness in the drawings and see what the artist was thinking. I feel like all that gets lost in cleaned up drawings.

For people who've never been to CTN and are really into animation, I highly recommend this convention. It's so great! You learn so much and get very inspired at the end of the convention. So many great artists in one places at different skill levels are all there to help each other out. I love it! =]

130. Zoo Adventures

This past Sunday, I went to the zoo again!
I'm really enjoying doing some animal sketches. I'm getting a better hang of drawing quicker since as we know, animals don't like to stay still for very long. Except for when they're sleeping. I want to try to get more caricature out of them next time.
